Write for Us
Write for ASC Speakers Clubs
ASC Speakers Clubs exists to help people become better speakers, better presenters and better leaders. Our readers are club members working through their first prepared speeches, seasoned evaluators, event organisers looking for a keynote speaker, and professionals who simply want to stop dreading the next meeting where they have to stand up and talk. If you have something practical to say to that audience, this write for us page tells you what we publish, how a guest post or sponsored post works, and how to submit an article.
What we publish
We publish articles that make someone a better communicator the next time they open their mouth in front of a room. Subjects we are actively looking for:
- Public speaking technique: structure, openings, storytelling, handling nerves, voice and delivery
- Presentation skills for work: slides, briefings, pitching and speaking to senior audiences
- Running and growing a speakers club: meeting formats, evaluation, mentoring new members
- Keynote and conference speaking: how to find a speaker, how to become one, and what event organisers should ask
- Leadership communication: chairing meetings, giving feedback, speaking in a crisis
- Debating, impromptu speaking, toasts and speeches for occasions
First-hand experience does best. A piece about the speech you got wrong and what you changed will always beat a list of generic tips.
Guest posts and sponsored articles
We accept two kinds of contribution. A guest post is contributed editorial from a speaker, trainer, coach or club member with useful experience to share. A sponsored post is a paid placement from a business that wants to reach our readers, for example a speaker bureau, a training company, an events venue or a presentation software product. Both are published on the same terms: the article is permanent, it is indexed by search engines, and any editorial link in it is a standard dofollow link. We do not take articles down later unless there is a factual error or a legal reason.
Sponsored posts are labelled as sponsored where disclosure is required, and we ask that any commercial interest behind a guest post is declared to us when you pitch. Pricing for sponsored placements is available on request; tell us what you have in mind and we will send a quote. Typical turnaround from accepted draft to publication is three to five working days.
Guidelines
Our contributor guidelines are deliberately short. Please read them before you submit an article.
- Original work only. The article must not have been published anywhere else, and we will not accept spun or machine-rewritten text.
- 800 words or more. Longer is fine if the subject earns it.
- One or two relevant links to sources, examples or your own site are welcome, provided they help the reader.
- No gambling, adult or pharmaceutical content, and nothing unrelated to speaking, communication, events or leadership.
- An author bio of two or three sentences is optional. A headshot is welcome.
- We edit for house style, clarity and length, and we use British English. We will show you substantive changes before publication.
- Send drafts as plain text, Word or Google Docs, with any images attached separately and credited.
How to pitch
Email the editor at guestpost@speakersclubs.uk with the subject line "Guest post: [your topic]". A short pitch is enough to begin: a working title, three or four sentences on the angle and who it helps, and whether you are proposing a guest post or a sponsored post. If you already have a finished draft, send it. We reply to every pitch, usually within two working days, and we will say plainly if a subject is not for us so that you can place it elsewhere.
Whether you want to write for us, submit an article you have already written, or talk about a sponsored post, the address is the same: guestpost@speakersclubs.uk.
